Vivanta Guwahati

Very nice. One of the best hotels in Guwahati.

I have stayed in other hotels in this city. But I liked this hotel the most. The rooms are very nice. The food is very tasty. However, I did not find anything in the mini Refrigerator, which should be there. Refrigerator

Hospitality of the staff, ambience, cleanliness, location, room facilities, etc. were all very impressive.

We couldn't sleep the second night because there was a loud screeching sound coming from the water pipes or HVAC (unsure what was up) in irregular intervals. This ruined our sleep the second night, adding to our jetlag fatigue. I hope the management fixes this problem.

Modern hotel on the edge of Guwahati on the "main drag" GS Road. Beautiful lobby and garden area by the pool. Large rooms and comfortable beds. Great breakfast buffet and dinner options in cafe. Very friendly and helpful staff in cafe. Price was fair for the type of accommodation.

Hotel floors and rooms are in need of renovation. Carpets on floors were musty and stained and there was a smell of mildew in the room. Staff at reception were impersonal and almost unfriendly. Despite the location, not much to do in the immediate area...it is mainly automotive shops and a few restaurants.

Very friendly staff. Taj is Taj. They know how to pamper you.

They need extra help during breakfast time.

Loved the staff, be it the reception, breakfast, housekeeping, entrance, manager. Though the property was a bit run down but the staff was excellent .

Beds were not comfortable, mattress was too soft. And every time i turned the bed made a squeaky sound.

There seemed to be some fresher staff attending to us during breakfast. I had to request her 3 times for ketchup and tabasco, and she just didn't bring it. Each time she nodded her head and walked away. Finally it was a Manager who had to explain to her and 10 mins later i was served.

I liked the front desk's warm reception. In particular, Anamika was worth taking note of.

Frankly, the standard of breakfast is not the same as before. Fruits were insipid. Culinary skills seem to have lost the edge. Hospitality is not what it used to be earlier. Even though there were so many staff, except some known senior ones, they were perfunctory, and never made any effort to play true hosts. Is it lack of training or supervision, or both, I couldn’t be too sure.

Large but well organised property with good rooms and amenities. Excellent evening buffet meal as well as extensive breakfast offering with both Local and international dishes. Stayed here by choice 3 times in the month of January.

The bedroom lighting and electrical systems have temperamental and confusing electronic controls which are very frustrating when lights won’t switch off. Analogue switches would be much better.The other problem with this hotel is that it’s a popular wedding and event venue, and noise levels are excessive late at night if you’re on the wrong side of the building.

Very comfortable hotel to stay in. Amazing food with local delicacies Warm and courteous staff. Great place to stay!!

Beautiful and unique.

Looks a little dry and dull during the day. And my room’s phone and some light switches were not working.

Lunch buffet laid out in the lawn

the location , it is too far from Kamakhya Devi temple . Most of the visitors comes for Maa Devi's darshan .

The environment is amazing..the cleanliness and greenery with beautiful city view..loved it❤️

Everything was quite fine

The property is beautiful, well maintained and good selection of food. Staff is very polite and professional.

The pillows are very uncomfortable, too thick and hard. They should have an option of thinner/ feather alternate options.

Breakfast was excellent. Great spread.

Bathroom could be cleaner and possibly refurbished. Everything seems old and tired and not very clean.

Location

The Room was clean, but it did not give a feeling of luxury because the repair work done in the rooms and bathroom was not properly done. Mini Bar was empty, nothing to eat. No wafers or nuts etc.

Reception and Chinese restaurant.

Loud music in the bar till 3.00 am . Could not sleep

Not at all a Taj standard hotel the overpriced tariff for an extrordinary ordinary hotel the bathrooms a sliver of bath space the towels greying , what is going on . Taj Vivanta has never been this before

The location!

Everything else! The check in process was lengthy - longer than an hour while nobody even bothered to ask for water or a welcome drink. Absolutely trying the whole process of check in. In the morning at breakfast table, few of the staff came to our table asking us when we would leave and in a way rushing us while we were still eating. I never felt so much under pressure at a breakfast table at a supposed five star property. They were acting pretty cheap, I can say, from the reception experience to the breakfast table. On the cleanliness part, this place is below average. The floor was sticky and their staff claimed it was due to the air conditioner! Bathroom had stains. I wouldn’t recommend this place anywhere. Guwahati has another property that I perhaps would, and that’s Radisson!

The staff in the front desk and the fitness centre, I dont remember their name but they were really sweet. And loved the pool, the gym, the sauna.
